A Message from the Executive Director

CMC-Canada continues to operate at full capacity amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with recommendations from government and public health authorities. Our National Office staff are working remotely. Please note that all in-person events are suspended until further notice.

In their place members have full access to new and recorded learning opportunities online. We will advise members of any increased service disruption via our website and by e-mail.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these challenging times.

Government of Canada Economic Response Plan

The Government of Canada announced a stimulus package of up to $82 billion to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on individual Canadians and businesses. In making the announcement the Prime Minister indicated that further measures will follow as the pandemic takes a broader toll on our economy.

We encourage members who work independently, operate small consulting firms or offer financial and operations advice to clients to examine the economic response plan.

Highlights include:

  • A temporary wage subsidy
  • Deferred tax payments until after August 31st
  • Business Credit Availability Program
  • GST relief

CMC-Canada has communicated the concerns of independent consulting firms to the Federal Government, including Public Services and Procurement Canada and Finance Canada. We have reached out to organizations that share similar circumstances such as the Canadian Federation of Independent Business and the Canadian Society of Association Executives.
