The Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario is pleased to recognize our Fellow Certified Management Consultants (FCMCs) for 2024.

The title of Fellow is intended to formally recognize CMCs in good standing who have provided exceptional service to the profession and whose achievements in their careers and in the community have earned them distinction and brought honour to the profession.


Antony Upward, FCMC, is a visionary in management consulting whose career embodies the ethics and principles central to the Certified Management Consulting designation. With over 30 years of experience, Antony has consistently delivered value to clients and championed sustainable, ethical business practices. Early in his career, he led major transformation projects in telecommunications and technology, including innovative business process redesigns for Apple, KPMG, and Rogers Cantel, developing processes and solutions with integrity and a commitment to lasting client success.

Driven by a passion for sustainability, Antony pursued graduate research that led him to design the Flourishing Business Canvas, a transformative tool that reshapes business models to balance social, environmental, and economic impact. This work, foundational to ethical and sustainable business practices, has influenced industries worldwide. Through his consulting practice, Edward James Consulting Ltd., Antony provides clients with business models that prioritize long-term well-being for both people and the planet, exemplifying the CMC commitment to ethical, client-centered consulting.

Volunteer Contributions to the Community

Antony’s contributions extend beyond his own practice. He co-founded the Flourishing Enterprise Institute and several other initiatives dedicated to sustainable business education, impacting leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics globally. His volunteer work within the CMC community—publishing, speaking internationally, and contributing pro bono—reinforces his dedication to the consulting profession and his commitment to sharing his expertise for the greater good.

Nik Nanos, FCMC, is a trusted consultant and one of Canada’s foremost experts in market and public opinion research. Since 1988, Nik has provided strategic insights to the business, government, and non-profit sectors, and he has led Nanos Research since 1993. His experience spans over 2,500 research projects, including strategic planning, public policy analysis, and consumer experience optimization. Recognized as a leading pollster, Nik has an outstanding track record in election research and serves as the official pollster for CTV News, the Globe and Mail, and Bloomberg News in Canada. His data-driven insights on Canadian sentiment are also featured weekly through the Bloomberg Nanos Canadian Confidence Index, a unique collaboration he launched to track and report consumer confidence nationally and globally.

Volunteer Contributions to the Community

Nik’s impact within the CMC community has been remarkable. He led the development and launch of CMC-Canada’s latest Industry Report, guiding his team from concept to execution with dedication. Donna Ringrose, Executive Director of CMC Canada, noted, “Nik is not only a talented consultant but also a trusted advisor and mentor to those around him. He was fundamental in overseeing the development and launch of CMC Canada’s latest Industry Report, where he and his team managed and executed the project from beginning to end. He also demonstrated his steadfast commitment to the organization by participating in CMC-Canada’s first-ever Day on the Hill event, where his contributions and calming force were instrumental, impactful, and appreciated.”

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Nik’s volunteer efforts showcase his deep commitment to the consulting profession and broader society. He serves on CMC Ontario Council and chairs the Advisory Council for uOttawa’s Positive Energy Initiative, which brings together researchers and decision-makers to build public trust in energy policies. He is also a champion of education through his work with Carleton University, where he has established multiple scholarships, including one for Indigenous students and another for the Royal Canadian Navy. Nik actively supports the G. Stuart Adam Award in Journalism and co-leads the Indigenous School Mentorship Program, which funds cultural and educational programs for Indigenous youth.

Nik’s international impact includes his role as the chair of Atlantik-Bruecke Canada, fostering relations between Canada and Germany, and as a leader of a Canadianist group advancing the study of Canada globally. With his enduring contributions to the consulting profession and his dedication to public service, Nik exemplifies the highest standards of the CMC designation, making a lasting impact on clients, colleagues, and the community at large.

Rodney Evely, FCMC, is a seasoned management consultant and advisor with over 30+ years of exceptional experience in executive leadership, business transformation architecture, and strategic planning. His expertise covers both the public and private sectors, where he has consistently shown a strong commitment to client success. He has successfully managed high-impact engagements that foster change and innovation on a global scale.

Rodney has a proven track record of overseeing transformative initiatives valued at up to $1 billion. He specializes in enterprise implementations, digital transformation, and systems integration, particularly with platforms like MS Dynamics ERP and SAP. His effective consulting approach has taken him across various international landscapes, including Canada, the U.S., Japan, China, and Vietnam.

His instrumental role in the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Assessment and Revenue Management system (CARM) — a transformative $650 million SAP technology project — demonstrates his ability to develop comprehensive methodologies and strategic frameworks. By creating meticulously crafted strategy decks and executive briefings, he guided teams toward successful project outcomes, exemplifying his commitment to excellence and innovation.  At Global Affairs Canada, Rodney led the EICS II Initiative, overseeing a multidisciplinary leadership team. He fostered collaboration and strategic alignment, which drove enterprise technology transformation. His forward-thinking mindset and ability to inspire teams have made him a respected figure in the field, influencing not only program outcomes but also the evolution of consulting practices.

Rodney exemplifies visionary leadership by combining strategic insight with actionable solutions that empower organizations to thrive in an ever-changing environment. His dedication to coaching and mentoring executive leaders not only fosters client success but also drives innovation within the industry. This commitment ensures that he remains a transformative force in the consulting world, paving the way for future advancements and excellence.

 Volunteer Contributions to the Community

Rodney has been an invaluable contributor to the CMC community. He currently serves on the Eastern Ontario Council as Director-at-large and was the Chair for a two-year term. He played a key role in launching the immensely successful Pro Bono Management Advisory Services program in the Eastern Ontario region, including the Ontario landscape. Known for his strong commitment to professional growth, he revitalized CMC’s mentoring program, providing essential support to new CMC members. Additionally, he frequently hosts and delivers talks in the public sector, sharing his expertise with peers and industry professionals.

Rodney is not only a valuable contributor to CMC but also deeply committed to lifelong learning and community service. He has earned multiple technology certifications, including those from Blue Prism, UI Path, a certified Enterprise Architect, PRINCE2, IT Service Design, Change Management, Risk Management, Agile, SAP, and the Project Management Association of Canada, including a Scrum Master. His dedication to skill development and mentorship, both within the consulting profession and beyond, exemplifies the highest standards of the CMC community.
